Whether you’re hosting an event or attending a networking event, you’ll want to make sure that you can make a lasting impression. Not only will you want to make sure that your conversations go well with whoever you reach out to at the event but you will also want them to remember you after the event. In order to accomplish that, you may want to consider giving out promotional gifts that have your information on it so they’re more inclined to remember your company or organization.

The Old Tried & True Gifts

Most people, when going to a networking event, when they want someone they meet to remember them will just throw out business cards to each and everyone they meet. That not necessarily a bad idea – evidence shows that business cards do still work great – but they may not create a lasting impression or may just get lost in the pile of business cards that they’re receiving from everyone else.

Instead, or in addition to, your business cards, try getting a bit more creative by giving out simple gifts or branded items that the recipient may actually want to use or at least will stand out from all those other business cards. Custom circle stickers, for instance, are a great way to share your business and contact information that is inexpensive but will stand out from all the cards and could potential help increase brand awareness should the recipient decide to apply the sticker to something.

Another tried and true gift is the branded pens. Custom pens are definitely one of the most common items because they’ve always been an appreciated gift and something that the recipient could use on a regular basis which helps keep you in their mind. Unfortunately, though, not that many people still use pens on a regular basis anymore so it may not be as effective as it used to be.

Custom, Unique Gifts that Stand Out

If you’re willing to open up your wallet a bit for the event, you may want to consider spending a bit more to have some custom gifts created which will have a bigger impact on your networking attempts. Simple items like custom t-shirts are always appreciated, as are branded reusable water bottles. If you want to get a bit more creative, though, you may consider coming up with some items or gifts that better represent your brand, your company, or the services/products that you offer.

For example, a locksmith may want to give out custom uncut keys that feature their logo on the bow of the uncut key. Recipients could then have the key cut as a home key or for some other purpose and would see locksmith’s logo whenever they use that key.

Another example might be a car company or dealership that would give out custom branded windshield shades. These make a great gift because they’re useful to almost everyone and they feature the company’s logo and information which can be seen from outside the vehicle to anyone passing by. It’s a great way to increase brand awareness and exposure through your custom gift – effectively making an impact on more people than just the initial recipient.
